3 Ways to Give Back to and Encourage Climate Health and Policy

We all know that tackling climate change can seem like an extreme undertaking and pretty overwhelming to start. Nonetheless, every major action starts somewhere. Taking small steps as a community will ultimately play a significant role in protecting your local environment and wellbeing.

Here are some steps you can take in both your personal lives and out in the community to help make YOUR mark on environmental and public health policy:

  • Choosing to use bikes, public transport, or electric cars rather than gas.

This plays a role in helping prevent problems such as smog, reducing risk of struggle breathing while lowering greenhouse gas levels

  • Planting native trees and plants and/or supporting tree-planting initiatives around the world by activist groups or environmentally focused online platforms both helps clean the air, preventing a concrete jungle while also beautifying cities - greenery is not only is healthier for our lungs but also for our mental health

  • Posting about and encouraging more plant-based diets in online communities supports the fight against greenhouse gas emissions, saving water and land and improving ecosystems in crisis. For example, red meat like beef tends to use up much more water and emit more greenhouse gases, so even if you replace it with white meat in your diet, that is a great start.

So what are you waiting for? Implement these tips into your lifestyle--and help others do the same--to give back and invest in a healthier planet:-)
